Adelyn was chosen along with 5 other peers to present how Kindergarteners use technology in the classroom to the Board of Education members. Adelyn's specific job was to teach them how to use number ladders (a technique to teach math addition and subtraction). Although she was a little nervous and suggested we may see her shy face, she did a great job and had fun. It deserved a reward from the K :)

Happy Birthday Adelyn!
Well our baby just turned 6 years old! She had a terrific day at school and I took in birthday cake popcorn for her to share with her classmates. She enjoyed bringing home the birthday journal that each student in the class fills out on his/her birthday. It was fun to read together! She chose the birthday dinner..."Max and Merma's" and ordered her usual...mac and cheese with applesause and a strawberry lemonade :) Bonus: since it was a Wednesday night, we all got free cookies!

Bryn's Music performance/art show
Bryn was excited to prepare for a "real show" and came home regularly with details...I was quick to hush her because I wanted to be surprised with her hard work preparing for her singing performance. We heard "Down by the bay", "In my heart", and "Shoo Fly". It was a ton of fun to watch! Afterwards, we paraded through the halls and gymnasium to see art items on display. She was awfully proud to show her clay project :)
Our 1st friends party!
The time has come...this year is the first year we have fallen to the request of having a "friends" birthday party. So that everyone at school, church, the neighborhood, bus drivers, and anyone that would listen to an invitation wasn't coming, I quickly established a rule that you can invite however old you are...so Adelyn was quick to make out a list of her 6 closest friends. We had a fun 2 hours of pizza, crafts, pinata, musical cushions, cake, opening gifts, and lots of playing!
Adelyn's Career day
Well, in discussing what she would wear and what she will be when she grows up, I heard everything from a teacher, a doctor, a princess, to a sheriff! Everything she came up with there was a reason why it wasn't going to work...she really wanted to be a sheriff but she wasn't going to wear her cowboy hat without cowboy boots! So, 30 minutes before the bus was going to arrive, I suggested the animal hospital dress up she has....that was a winner. So, although I don't think she has any interest in becoming a Vet, Adelyn sure did have a fun time dressing up for Career day!
Upward Celebration
The basketball/cheer season has come to an end (yes, I'm a little behind on the updates!). The girls enjoyed the season and Upward does a really nice job with the awards ceremony. The girls, along with their team, were announced on stage and then a special guest did some fun basketball tricks. They each came home with a certificate and special gift!
